Painted Bricks Shawl Kit - luxury hand dyed wool for knitting
This is a kit to knit for the Painted Bricks Shawl by Stephen West - the pattern is available to purchase on Ravelry. Photo credit Stephen West.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this pattern it's such alot of fun and it's just stunning.
The kit consists of 2 x 100g skein and 12 x 20g mini skeins plenty of yarn to knit the fingering weight version of the shawl.
It's available on two separate bases; non superwash 4ply 100g/385m or superwash merino yak with sw merino/nylon mini skeins 100g/400m.
The non superwash kit is entirely non superwash 4ply 100g/385m and you will receive 2x100g mid grey skeins the main colour and 12 x 20g mini skeins also on the non superwash base in the Ying Yang colours.
For the superwash kit the main colour 100g skein is a superwash merino yak and nylon yarn 55% merino 20% yak and 25% nylon. This is it's natural colour and is undyed. For the contrast colour you have 12 x 20g mini skeins which have been dyed on a superwash merino nylon base 75%/25%. Yardage 100g/400m.
The non superwash wool is quite plump compared to the superwash wool and I wouldn't consider it to be scratchy. It has a bit of toothiness and definitely isn't sw merino soft but lovely all the same!
The yarn is hand dyed in small batches with professional dyes in a smoke-free environment. Though this yarn is washable, I recommend hand-washing your finished object with a wool wash such as soak. Minimal colour bleeding may occur during the first few washes, so please wash apart from other items.
